Blue Bird

An accompanying note for this work describes how a bird’s brief life becomes blissfully immutable through its representation. Titled Blue Bird, the piece is part of the artist’s Lushtemples series. It is a generative drawing, created using a bespoke Javascript program that autonomously produces the final image from a defined set of rules. This method reflects Michaël Zancan’s practice of building computational systems to create pictures. The subject, a bird surrounded by blossoms, is consistent with the natural forms referenced in the artist's work. The piece was issued in July 2023 as a high resolution digital file in an edition of one hundred.
